Monthly Playlist: February 2016

I was inspired by 'What Olivia Did' to do this post. I absolutely love music and listening to it instantly makes me feel happier. I love reading these posts as it gives me inspiration for new songs that I should listen to. I am not too sure you will get this with me though as I listen to pretty generic stuff! I listen to chart music often and I am in love with Taylor Swift (although I must point out I was a big fan back in her 2009 country music days). Anyway, here's a run down of the top songs I have been listening to recently.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pillow Talk - ZAYN

Lush Life - Zara Larsson

Cheap thrills - Sia and Sean Paul

Rinse & Repeat - Riton, Kah-Lo

Stay - Kygo and Maty Noyes

Fast Car - Jonas Blue, Dakot

Eyes Shut - Years and Years

WSTRN - In2

Wildest Dreams - Taylor Swift

The Feeling - Justin Bieber & Halsey

The Sound - The 1975

If I Could Change Your Mind - HAIM (MK Remix)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What have you been listening to recently??

Luxe Beauty Haul

Exams finished, shopping done. I have been spending quite a lot of money recently. Lets just say that exams had finished and I went a bit wild. I went to York Designer Outlet with my mum and was particularly excited about visiting the Cosmetics Company Outlet store. I also went to York for the day with my boyfriend and he kindly bought me the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in 'Dim light'. I have been wanting it for SO long!

Estee Lauder Double Wear / £30 / Outlet Price: £21 ; I find it quite amazing that the CCO does products that are still selling on the high street at full price! They only did cool tone colours but that was perfect as that was what I was after! I have had this foundation in the past (featured in a 2011 post HERE) and it really is amazing full coverage. After a night out recently, my skin has broken out quite badly so this is definitely coming in handy.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Bronzer / £33 / Outlet Price: £23 ; Despite owning a lot of make-up, I don't really have that many bronzers. I usually use the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer but I feel it can be quite patchy and doesn't give the best payoff. I have a couple of other cheap ones but have never really invested in a high end bronzer. After using this almost every day, I realise how much of a difference there is between this and my high street bronzers. It gives a really great payoff and the pan is SO big! Therefore, despite being quite pricey, it will last me ages!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in 'Dim light' / £38 / Space NK ; I have been talking about Hourglass for almost two years now but have never got round to getting myself something from the luxury brand. The prices are pretty hefty so I have always put it off. When me and my boyfriend were in York, he was adamant that we go in Space NK (great boyfriend, I know!) I was trying to resist the temptations but was drawn to hourglass and spent a while gazing over the packaging and the iridescent payoffs of all of their products. Out of the blue, James just bought me it despite it's £38 price tag. Luckily I had spent £100 on my Space NK card in the past so we got £5 off but it was still such a lovely gift. It has such a lovely pearly shine and is a gorgeous highlighter. It is more silver toned than the MAC's Soft and Gentle so I'm glad that I have two high end highlighters in both gold and silver.

What do you think of the products I bought? What product from Hourglass would you really recommend? I really want to get their Veil primer...

LOTS OF LOVE,

Vegan/Plant Based Pancake Recipe!

99% of the time I eat vegan and I am always up for trying new things! Pancake day is so easy as there are so many milk alternatives and eggs really aren't that necessary. The pancake texture is just the same so I don't see the need for milk and eggs anyway really. You can obviously put whatever toppings you want and I would've added fruit if I had some - it would've made the pictures prettier!

Recipe:
For the pancake:
Buckwheat Flour (You can use white flour - buckwheat is all that I had in!)
Almond Milk
Cocoa Powder

Toppings:
Lemon
Sugar
Maple Syrup
Desicated Coconut
Chopped Hazelnuts

I hope you like this post and HAPPY PANCAKE DAY! xxxx

DAYTRIP DIARIES: York

The other day, me and my boyfriend decided to go for a day out and as he had never been to York, I thought it would be a lovely idea to go. My home isn't too far from York; yet I can count the times I have been on one hand. It is such a beautiful intricate city so I really wanted my boyfriend to experience it. The day consisted of walking round the shops, going for lunch in the famous 'Bettys Tea Rooms' and I even managed to nip into a random beauticians to get that eyebrow wax that I have been meaning to get for weeks.

York has some really nice unique shops such as old fashioned sweet shops and your typical souvenir places amongst the cobbled streets. The 'classy' high street stores such as LK Bennett, Whistles, Space NK, Kiehls etc also lay amongst these. There is a high street with all your classic stores and here is where you feel like you could be anywhere in the UK - I'm not so fond of this bit! The cobbled streets and cosy narrow alleys are my favourite.

The Shambles is my best memory of the streets of York and it really feels like you are living 500 years back in time!

We also visited York Minster. It was super windy as you can tell from my interesting stance...

We went for lunch in Bettys Tea Rooms. I wish we had got the classic afternoon tea but instead, I went for a mushroom pasta dish and James went for the prawn, salmon and haddock concoction with fresh orange juice. The fresh juices were lovely, I had the homemade lemonade: always my favourite!.I didn't actually take pictures of my food because I was so hungry that it went straight in my mouth!

Overall, we had a lovely day in York; I think it's a really nice place to go to feel happy! I recommend that if you visit, you either get the train or go to a Park and Ride. We did park and ride (Askham Bar) which is super convenient as there is a bus leaving every 10 minutes and it is £2.40 return. Parking in the centre of York is this price per hour! Just a heads up :)

Hope you enjoyed reading! Which other UK city shall I visit for a nice day out? I think I'd quite like somewhere like Bath.... LOTS OF LOVE,
