Outfit Diary: Greece

Hey everyone, I've been absent from my blog for 10 days now due to having been on holiday, oops! I am now back and have moved back to university and it is currently freshers week. I have lots of things to catch up on and this is one of those things that has taken a back seat. But I'm going to do a few posts about my amazing holiday to Greece! The first one is the evening outfits I wore: daytimes were filled with suncream, bikinis and drinks by the pool so there's not too much interesting outfits going on there. I hope you like some of the outfits I wore and enjoy my somewhat interesting poses.

Dress & Tassel bag: New Look. Shoes: Topshop. Lipstick: Topshops Infrared.
Maxi dress: Missguided. Bag: New Look. Sandals: Primark. Lipstick: MAC's Coral Bliss.

Asymmetric top: Topshop. Skirt: Missguided, Wedges: Can't remember!

Top & Skirt: H&M. Shoes: Topshop

Crop top: New Look. Skirt: River Island. Sandals: Primark. Bag: New Look.
Kimono I am holding is from Primark

The next outfit is due to having a romantic meal on the beach. It was so amazing and that will be featured in my next post. I thought I would give a background on that one otherwise it might look a bit dressy in comparison to the others.

What did you think of my outfits?

TAG: This Or That

Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I am currently on holiday in Greece as you are reading this so look forward to a post or two about my trip. I saw this tag on Candice's blog and thought I would have a go at it as its a fun little post to do and it might get you guys to know me a little better!

THE QUESTIONS:

High End or Drugstore?
I have waaaay more drugstore products than high end ones but I'd say high end are my favourite. There's always that special feeling of owning a luxurious product and most of the time the actual product is better quality (not always though!)

Straight or curly?
I have naturally straight hair so the novelty has worn off big time and I always wish that when I curl my hair, it would stay in. However I do like my natural hair when its fresh; it is straight with a bit of texture.

Summer or Winter?
DEFINITELY summer. I don't like Winter. It's cold, my feet get cold, everythings cold: I just don't like it. I'm trying to be optimistic about everything in my life so I am going to have to embrace it very soon but for now I'll look forward to my holiday in Greece! *Prays that it will be hot*

Tea or Coffee?
Neither! I know, what kind of english person am I.

Early morning or late night?
I wish I could embrace the crisp air and the early mornings but quite frankly I like my bed too much and I love sleep. I am still young so I see late nights waaaay more than I see early mornings.

TV or YouTube?
I don't really watch much TV so I gotta say YouTube. I probably watch YouTube almost every day, I love it.

North Or South?
I'll refer to England in this one. I am from the north and used to be very patriotic about the good ole north. However I know I want to move to the south after university and get a job in the big smoke! So my answer for now is probably the south.

Heels or Flats?
It really depends on the occasion. Day: I prefer flats. Night: I prefer heels. All in all if I had to choose (it is the this or that tag) then I would choose heels.

Night Out or Night in?
I stay in more than I go out and I do think nights out can be slightly overrated. At home I prefer staying in all cosy in my bed, but at uni I prefer nights out.

Save or Spend?
A bit of both. I believe money is for spending and enjoying your life however I am sensible with it and ensure that I always have savings and money for the things I want to do. I don't spend on silly things but can't resist shopping every now and then.

I tag anyone that wants to do it! Leave a link in the comments below if you do this tag and I will check it out.

TIPS: Packing For A Holiday

I have been on plenty of holidays in my life and feel I have got packing down to a T. Beach holidays are my fave - don't get me wrong I love sight seeing and seeing the world but I do love  staying in resorts and just chilling by the pool and on the beach. Bliss.

Write a list - I do this before packing anything because otherwise I will forget something! I start writing the list the day before I start packing so that when random things pop in to my mind, I can add it to the list. This is bound to make sure you don't forget anything... life saving!

Buy minis - Minis save up so much room and are actually really fun to buy. Because they are cheaper (most of the time!), I kind of go crazy. It's a great way to try out new products too without spending the full whack on a hair product you may actually hate. Noone wants to take a full bottle of heat protectant spray on holiday when about 1/10 of the bottle will actually get used. Which takes me on to my other tip...

Decant products - If you don't want to spend money on lots of different minis, decant your products into bottles. You can buy these little bottles in sets in Primark for next to nothing. Saves money AND room. Win win.

Plan your outfits before you go - I used to do this and took the right amount of clothes, however when heading to Madrid this year, I just threw everything I liked in my suitcase. I came home with a big bag of clean clothes within my suitcase and just thought - what was the point? Of course, if you're a girl who likes options, you can always take a few tops that may go with a certain pair of shorts or whatever, but planning is key. You'll often look more put together on holiday too.

Split your clothes between two suitcases - If you're travelling with a partner or your family, try putting some of your belongings in their luggage just in case your luggage gets lost. It hasn't happened to me yet (touch wood!) but I know people who have had it happen to them. I can't imagine it is nice to be on holiday without your things.

Put your products in see through toiletry bags - I think this is nice because you can see what products are where. It will be much easier to unpack and you may not even have to take your toiletries out if you can see where they are. You can buy them really cheap so it doesn't really matter if they get messy. I find makeup, brushes and beauty products end up making my nice toiletry bags really dirty so having these clear disposable ones is cheap, easy and efficient!

Remember to take items that will look after your skin - I'm talking tshirts to cover your shoulders, high SPF for your face and suitable SPF for your body. Nothing says I didn't put suncream on and got sunstroke better than an unattractive burnt face and body. If you are going skiing, SPF is still essential as you receive more UV up in the mountains. If you're going to a cold place at sea level, SPF may not be so necessary. It's all about packing correctly for the occasion.

Look at the weather forecast before you go - If your holiday destination is forecast to rain one of the days you are there, you may need to look into bringing a rain mac or an umbrella. For me, rain would mean less unbearable heat and more exploring. But I would only really be able to do this if I brought suitable clothing ie not just bikinis and the odd pair of shorts.

So there are my tips for when packing for a holiday. Or even a city break or business trip! I hope you like! If you like reading posts about beauty, travel, lifestyle and all that kinda thing, remember to follow me on bloglovin

OOTD | A Summer Wedding

Last weekend, I attended my first ever wedding (yes, my first!) and it was so much fun. It was my boyfriends cousins wedding and I think it has set the bar very high for future weddings I may go to! I loved my dress and I had many compliments on it so I thought I would share it with you all. It wasn't expensive in the slightest! I know people feel like they have to spend a lot on dresses for weddings but its really not necessary unless you want to. If you're interested in getting the same dress as me, you can get it here from CelebLook.

**Apologies for the picture quality, I didn't take my camera with me so I took them on my iPhone**

The wedding was incredible and so much effort was put in to it! From the ceremony to the wedding breakfast and party, so much time and effort went into it. The decor and design was amazing as was the food, I had the best time!

I hope you liked my dress, what would you wear to a wedding?

Mindfulness & Ways To Relax

Recently I have been thinking about what it means to be mindful and what mindfulness is really about. There are lots of videos on Youtube explaining its concept and it claims to be a technique that will help you see a different perspective through any situation in life. I was watching a video and the guy said imagine looking at yourself doing what you are doing now. And keep doing that. He claims that by practicing mindfulness, traumas in our life such as deaths will seem less traumatic. I'm not sure about that but I'm open to try it.

When I'm not at my boyfriends, but at my home in Leeds in an empty bed, I take the opportunity to have my moments of zen. I think time to yourself is important and can really help you relax and enjoy your own company. I feel the whole world is constantly stressed but there are so many reasons to be happy as I mentioned in a previous post and so, why not relax? There are a few ways in which we can do this..

Yoga - This is an obvious one but is still something which I fail to do. This is almost a nudge to myself to get on and do yoga! When I go back to university I will definitely be taking part in classes and there is even a hot yoga class at the bottom of my road!

Snuggle - Snuggling up in bed watching movies (youtube videos in my case!) is a great way to forget about the world and to just enjoy yourself. I feel truly relaxed knowing I have nothing to do in an evening and that I can just spend a night chilling out. It makes problems from the day or problems you may soon face in later days, seem really unimportant.

Spa day/night - Use a face mask, run yourself a LUSH bath or paint your nails with your newest polish. Pampering yourself makes you feel good and with the help of a good candle, can be very relaxing.

Colouring books - These are becoming more and more popular and I can see why. Colouring is actually really fun and the complicated designs allow for real creativity. I started doing this when I was on an aeroplane and I felt it really distracting from the tedious journey or being sat in a metal tube for hours on end. I think it would be really calming and relaxing for those with a fear of flying.

So there are my thoughts on mindfulness and being able to relax! What do you guys do to relax and have you heard/practiced mindfulness? Or do you think it is just a farce? Let me know.

Lots Of Love,

Alice
