LIFESTYLE: This Week #1

I love reading lifestyle posts, particularly 'this week' posts as I'm nosy and like to see what people have been up to. I'm going to do a series of these when my weeks are more interesting.

This week, I started watching Orange is the new black, which I am currently obsessed with. Not going to lie, I don't think that anything will beat Prison Break but OITNB is set in a similar situation (a prison) and I just love it! I'm already on season 2!

I went into Leeds shopping (see my latest post - a haul & try on) and bought lots of holiday clothes and stopped for lunch in Trinity Kitchen. There are so many types of food in there and the Vietnamese place looked incredible so we headed over. The food was amazing and I had a detox smoothie which included Kale but tasted amazing.

The next two pictures are taken from when I went to see Taylor Swift in Manchester. She was amazing and I am completely obsessed with her. I've been a fan since 2008 and still haven't met her though. She puts on an amazing show and yes, I dressed like I was from the Shake it off music video... and I'm 20 years old... no judging people.

Nandos. That's all. It's so nice. Possibly one of my favourite food places ever. Their new menu includes quinoa salad which was tempting but I had to go for the wrap as its my favourite. The sweet potato wedges are gorgeous and I figured they were a lot healthier than their chips.

Lastly a photo from when I was back at university. I love this photo so I instagrammed it... I can't wait to be back at uni for freshers but excited for my summer firstly!

HAUL & Try On: Topshop, Zara, Primark, New Look...

I've been doing a bit of shopping recently, mostly for my upcoming holidays, so I thought I would share them with you. I am SO excited and cannot wait to be discovering Madrid and chilling on the beach in Greece with a cocktail (or twenty). I took a trip into Leeds and visited Topshop, Zara, Primark, New Look, H&M and ended up buying something from every shop I went in...oops.

Primark and H&M.
Primark: Black Belt // Bikini Top // White Denim Shorts // Sunglasses
H&M: White Plimsolls

Zara and Unique Avenue
Zara: Bag // Unique Avenue: Bikini

New Look
White Jeans // Brown Suede Top
Topshop
Holiday Sliders // High Waisted Bikini Bottoms
I tried some of the pieces on together to do a mini lookbook.

I've been brave putting bikini pics on here as I'm not tanned yet as summer hasn't really arrived and I definitely haven't got the summer body I'm hoping to achieve before my holidays! But hope you enjoyed this haul and I'll see you on Sunday with my next post!

LIFESTYLE: Tips for booking a city break

Do your research on destinations - All cities are different and some may be more suited to what you want to do than others. Researching things to do in cities will give you an insight into what city is best to visit so that you make the most of your trip. Doing this will also help you decide what you want to do there and what you want to avoid. For example, Amsterdam has two sides to it; my trip consisted of canals, cycling and good but for others it may be moreabout partying, sex and drugs. That wasn't for me so my online research enabled me to see which areas to avoid staying in.

Have an itinerary - Making the most of your time is essential especially as city breaks can only be a few days long, particularly if you're on a budget. Planning an itinerary before you go is good so that you don't waste time wondering around aimlessly (unless thats what you like to do, of course).

Book the excursions before you go - Booking excursions and days out before you go can not only save you money, but also time. If you are thinking of going to a museum, go on their website and see if you can pre book a slot. When I visited the Anne frank museum in Amsterdam, we hadn't booked and ended up queuing for 2 hours beforehand which obviously wasted time and was a bit annoying.

Look at hotel reviews on Tripadvisor - This is an obvious one and is something that I do before booking any holiday or city break. I like to read reviews that are recent to see what the hotel is currently like, but also the ones that were written at the same time as I am going to be visiting to get hints and tips. For example, the hotel I am visiting in Madrid said that the rooftop pool is only open in certain months and can get busy in particular months so this was helpful.

Go on price comparison websites - To get the cheapest deal, I would recommend visiting websites such as Expedia but don't let that be the be all and end all. My trip to Madrid was going to be around £300 flying with Ryan Air and staying in a hotel without breakfast and this was the cheapest deal available. However we later found the same hotel with British Airways for the same price but with continental breakfast and a better room AND flying with BA. Of course this deal was more ideal but it wasn't shown on Expedia so be aware that these websites don't include everything that is out there.

See if booking flights and hotel separately will save you money - Booking both flights and hotels on different websites might be cheaper. Booking a flight through the actual airline may be cheaper as they will directly receive your money as opposed to booking through agencies where you may pay a premium. This may be the same with booking hotels through the actual hotel website. This may not always be true though so make sure you shop around!

So there were my tips for booking a city break and these tips mostly apply to booking a holiday too! I am by no means an expert but have booked quite a few trips, breaks and holidays now and feel I am a bit of a sucker for the best deals. I hope you found these tips useful and the most important tip is HAVE FUN AND EXPLORE. I am so excited to travel the world!

Where should I visit? Let me know your favourite destinations!

BEAUTY: THAT Kylie Jenner MAC Liner

So today comes a post that is about a million years too late but the topic of Kylie Jenners amazing make-up and in particular, her lips, has been the talk of the internet for months now. Even though it has been discovered that she has indeed had lip fillers, there is no denying that the lip colours she wears are stunning as is her makeup in general. It was said that she uses a MAC liner most of the time in colours such as Soar and Spice. Soar is available in the UK so I knew I had to pick it up. And the hype is for a good reason ladies.....

It is a beautiful matte pink liner with a beige tone to it. It glides on nicely and stays on for hours if you're not eating or drinking. It is said that Kylie uses 'Whirl' lipstick over it but I like this on its own really. For £12.50 it is quite a pricey lip liner but in my opinion, definitely worth it as you can tell it is good quality and there is a lot of product there. So if you are still late on the bandwagon, I say you should give it a go!
What lipsticks go well with this?

BEAUTY: My Favourite Lip Products For Summer

Summer is finally here in England and I am so excited! Not only for my exciting plans and trips but to experiment with summer make up looks: I'm talking glowy skin and glossy lips. I have put together a few of my favourite lip looks for summer and these range from lipsticks, glosses and balms. Hope it inspires you to pick up one of these fab products...

Laura Mercier Lipgloss in 'Bonbon' ; Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 75 Parfait ; MAC Coral Bliss ; MAC Snob ; MAC Hue ; Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 04 Peach Club ; Maybelline Baby lips in Cherry

Laura Mercier Lipgloss in 'Bonbon' ; Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 75 Parfait ; MAC Hue ; Maybelline Baby lips in cherry, MAC Snob ; Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 04 Peach Club ; MAC Coral Bliss
The Laura Mercier gloss is a gorgeous shimmery light pink with a peachy-coral undertone which is perfect for a casual day or even for a night out with a heavy eye look. This is a mini size which is great for carrying around in your bag and is particularly for travel. Laura Mercier lip glosses are quite pricey but definitely worth it as the formula is not sticky and they glide on perfectly. I absolutely love my Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipstick for special occasions where my eye make up will be quite heavy. It adds a lovely natural shimmer to my lips and it always feels nice to get the packaging out because it is so luxurious. MAC's Hue lipstick is a cult in the world of nude lipsticks and is a nice one if you haven't really worn nude lipstick before. I find the Maybelline baby lips to be amazing products to wear when you are on the go as you can apply them without a mirror. The yellow one is great if you want a good spf and it would be perfect for those days on holiday and is something I'll be taking with me on my trips. 'Cherry me' is the one I'm wearing here and it looks really nice if you just want a bit of colour  without been over the top and for formula feels moisturising and slightly creamy. I love MAC's snob and have had it for a while. It's a gorgeous purple toned pink which just makes your make up look flawless. I really like the Bourjois rouge edition velvet colour as it feels creamy but leaves a semi matte finish with a hint of deep colour. As you can see from the above swatch, the MAC Coral Bliss is a super shiny shade and is the perfect coral for summer. It looks so glossy and is really easy to apply.

Do you have any of these products? I want to know some of your favourites so leave them in the comments below!

Lots Of Love,
