Mini USA Beauty Haul

My sister went to America a few weeks ago and I asked her to pick me up a few bits from Sephora when she was in New York City  Originally I asked for a Make Up Forever primer but unfortunately they didn't have any in stock. I instead decided to get the Laura Mercier primer as it is down as a cult primer in the make-up world.  I didn't really know what to expect from these products as I feel some blogger favourites are massively over hyped. Here's my verdict!

Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation Primer / $34 / Link - I love how this comes in a tube as you can squeeze every bit of product out like with toothpaste. I was surprised how little this felt like silicone on my face as that has been the case with some primers I've used in the past. It's a smooth kind of gel that effortlessly applies to my face in order to create a barrier between my skin and foundation. In terms of keeping foundation on, I'm not too sure I've worn it enough. But what I will say is that foundation applies better when this is underneath. I still definitely need to apply powder to my face but I'm pretty sure my make-up stays on for that little bit longer when I have this on.

Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer / $20 / Link - This is seriously good stuff! It is high coverage and covers spots so well. It's got a creamy texture that stays on well when powdered. I think it's great for big spots as well as large areas of blemishes as it doesn't look cakey either. This is definitely my favourite out of the 3.

Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara / $32 / Link - Starting with the packaging...it's interesting. It's not your typical plastic tube - it's a purple snake skin type pattern and material. It's definitely unique and makes it look more fancy than your average drugstore mascara. The actual product itself gives volume and length to the point where I'm satisfied with not wearing eye liner in the daytime. I've stopped wearing liner as it makes my eyes appear smaller but sometimes the definition just isn't there, but this mascara just opens my eyes up and makes for a nice natural look. The brush is more long and thin than short and fat and the formula is perfect! The only criticism is that there can be quite a bit of product build up on the brush sometimes but that's easy to wipe off.

Let me know if you have any of these products. I'd love to know what you think and feel free to recommend me some that I should try out!

Laura Mercier Lip Lovin'

My lovely boyfriend treated me to a Laura Mercier Mini Lip gloss collection for Valentines Day and I was super excited to try them. I have had their mineral powder foundation before but have never really delved into their range of products. I always see their products on blog and they're so beautiful and seem right down my street but they're just so pricey! This lip gloss collection is perfect as they're mini so are perfect for travelling and I never use a full lip gloss tube anyway. I gotta say the packaging aint the only good thing about these, the actual product is lush.

The colours are gorgeous and so pigmented so lets go through them:
Pink Spark is a light pink with some shimmer running through and is perfect for a natural lip. I love pairing this with a smoky eye.

Azalea is a purple toned pink without shimmer. It is quite vibrant and more 'in your face' than you would think. I tried pairing this with a smoky eye but I didn't particularly like it as it was slightly OTT. This is good if you're going for a statement lip but you're scared of vibrant lipsticks.

BonBon is a coral shade and goes great with a smoky eye. It's similar to Pink Spark but with a slight coral vibe and without shimmer.

Poppy is a gorgeous deep red gloss. When I'm going for a red lip, I usually go for a lip stain or a bold lipstick however I've actually really been enjoying wearing this throughout the day when I just have mascara on my eyes. It's quite a natural way to wear red lips but is still vibrant and just adds something lovely to your make up!

So there we have my little review of these gorgeous Laura Mercier lip glosses. My sister picked me a few bits up from the US so I'm going to do a little American beauty haul & review which actually includes a Laura Mercier product, so subscribe on bloglovin if you'd like to be notified about that!

Have you got any of these shades & what Laura Mercier products would you recommend?
