My Foundations! (and reviews) ☺

You may not know, but I loooove my foundations! This is a review on all the ones I own and you may leave comments on your favourite foundations for purchases in the future.

1.) First up, is one of my favourites: Estee Lauder Double Wear.

I was very excited when I first picked this up, as I saw many reviews revealing how brilliant and amazing it was..
It is an oil free product and 'non-acnegenic', so great for those of you with oily and acne-prone skin!

My thoughts:

Coverage: As everyone says. Gives a flawless coverage without looking like a mask.
Staying power: This foundation lasts a long time! As it's claimed: 'Stay-in-place Makeup' - it really does stay on all day. When taking make-up off, it can be a pain and take a while, but that's what we want, a stay on all day product.
Texture: I love the texture, as it is nice and silky. It isn't cakey and gives a matte finish with some sheen, I guess.
Bottle and packaging: The bottle looks quite nice, however would be so much better with a pump. I hate it when you pour foundation out of a bottle and then you've poured too much or too little. Thumbs down for that I'm afraid.
Price: This is quite pricey at £26, but definitely worth it for those of you with oily

2.) Another of my favourites, a mineral foundation: Laura Mercier Mineral Foundation.

I always thought a mineral foundation would never be enough for my oily, acne-prone skin. However, I recently plucked up the courage to spend £31 on a make-up item and realised how much I love it!
My thoughts:
Coverage: I never thought a mineral foundation could give such excellent coverage, however this can. You can light/medium coverage to a heavy coverage: it is definitely build-able.
Staying power: This stays better than a lot of foundations (not as well as Double Wear) but could do with a little dusting of powder over the top to ensure amazing coverage all day!
Texture: The texture is clearly a powdery mineral texture and sits nicely on the skin.
Bottle and packaging: I looove the packaging for this for some reason. I love how you can easily put the powder into the lid then swirl your brush around in it. You can also swing the lid thing round to close to ensure your powder will not spill in the lid when not being used.
Price: This foundation was £31. A lot! But I really do love it.

3.) Recently bought was: Revlon Photoready

The colour I bought was quite dark, so this foundation is my sort of 'night foundation' - when I have fake tanned my neck etc and especially when I am going to be in photos.
My thoughts
Coverage: This is a medium coverage (possibly light) If I compare it with double wear, it is a lot thinner. Nice to put over another one though or under one, to look fab in photographs at parties this christmas!
Staying power: This lasted all night for me and was great
Texture: The texture is light and silky
Bottle and packaging: I love the bottle - it has a pump. Lovely jubbly.
Price: This is a reasonable £12. Probably the most expensive 'drug store' foundation, but it is probably also the best...

4.) Bought a while back: Superbalanced Makeup Foundation By Clinique

I used to think this foundation was the bees knees but due to my recent purchases, I haven't used it in a while.
Coverage: The coverage is quite good, better than drug store foundations, I'd say medium.
Staying Power: I think this is the downfall with this product. I'm sure I wore it to sixth form the other day and half way through the day, my face looked clogged and blotchy. This may be because I've had it quite a while because I do remember loving it when I first bought it!
Texture: The texture is pretty nice and smooth.
Bottle and packaging: No pump again :(
Price: I bought this for £20 - it is now £21. I think this is okay, but I'm not crazy about the product anymore.

5.) Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour foundation
I feel this foundation is too light for me as I got 100 ivory. It is also a light coverage and I feel it may break me out a little.
Coverage: Light (ish)
Staying power: It says it lasts 25 hours. I doubt that long if I'm honest. I think it lasts quite a while if enough is applied.
Texture: Nice and silky.
Bottle and packaging: A pump, therefore a winner. I love the simplicity of the bottle and how easy it can be applied.
Price: I bought it when it first came on the market so got it at the introductory offer of £4.99. It is now £6.99 but worth it if your skin is not oily and acne prone.

I want to try MAC foundations such as Studio Sculpt and Studio Fix Fluid. I also want to try Chanel's range and NARs. Recommendations?
Much Love,

My Recent Beauty Buys!

Hello Everyone! Just thought I'd let you have a sneak peek of my recent beauty purchases. I love them all and they are all affordable and bargains! So let's get started...

'Hand Food' By Soap and Glory
This hand cream is affordable at the price of £4.85 in Boots and is sooo moisturising! The good thing about it, is that the moisture remains within the hands for an extended period of time and you don't feel the need to re-apply all the time.
I had the derma hand cream and I feel the moisture disappeared within about 10 seconds. Silly! Even though I bought it for like less than a pound so I guess that is to be expected...
So, if you are looking for a hand cream, I would say definitely give this a go!

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs
Yes, I'm sure many of you have heard of this and I am here to confirm my love for it! I purchased this is Savers for about £5 and got it in 'Medium Glow'.
It is so nice to spray on your legs before a night out. So tanned and airbrushed, mmmm.
I realise I need to rub it in once I apply, to avoid looking like a satsuma or something..
So, if you have not yet tried out this product, I recommend you do so! :)
No7 Cleanse and Care Eye Make-up remover
Now, I feel £7.25 for an eye make-up remover is pretty over budget for me as a student. However, with my £5 No7 voucher, I decided to purchase it for a mere £2.25 which was fab! It is nice and creamy and I feel as if it not drying to your eyes unlike Simple's Eye make-up remover. I love the fact it has a pump, which I pump on to my cotton wool pad and gently remove my make-up. Also, it actually removes ALL my eye make-up, without leaving me with panda eyes unlike Simple.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle
This a reconstructing deep conditioner for damaged hair. My hair isn't damaged, therefore I am waiting to use this for when I dye my hair or use heat repetitively for a week or so. I shall review it then, but I have heard the Aussie haircare range is very rewarding and my friend who uses it, has lovely smooth hair. It was 99p for this sample and I may purchase the full bottle when I have made my mind up about this sample.
Beauty UK No 32 Neon Orange, MUA: Shade 5, Shade 9, Shade 3, Shade 1.
These polishes are so cheap, with the MUA shades being £1 each and the beauty UK polish being about £2.50.
I should have shown you these colours on my nails, but I shall describe the shades to you in words ;)
As described, the neon orange is funnily enough.. neon orange. Not like, wow neon, but pretty nice and orange. The green shade is sort of a minty green colour and reminds me of Revlon Minted. The blue colour is a nice blue colour, I wouldn't say light nor dark. The purple colour is a nice fuchsia colour, a dark fuchsia most likely. The Shade 1 on the end is not black as it appears, but a dark bluey purple with slight holographic glitter in it! My favourite of all the polishes!
I won't lie, they do chip pretty easily, but I didn't use a top coat...
I'd recommend these nail polishes for those of you on a budget and I love the range of colours that MUA have at the moment!

-Thanks for reading this guys, hope it gives you some ideas of what you may want to buy or those lovely bargains around!
I wrote this blog, then the laptop froze, so I have re-wrote it whilst watching a programme about trip advisor, hahaha. So pre-apologies if you are aware that this is not the best blog around at the moment.
Nevertheless, hope you like ;D
P.S My birthday tomorrow yayayayay! -

Much love,
Alice xox

H&M, ZARA Haul!

Hello Everyone!

So, I've being doing a lot of shopping recently - oh dear!
However this week I am returning to school to start Sixth Form and I have to dress generally quite 'smart', so shopping has being very necessary.
I have being loving H&M and New Look recently and have purchased a few things from these shops, satisfying my shopping needs!!

Here is a pic of a few of the clothes I got.

Left to right:
Top - H&M, Dress - H&M, Cardigan with elbow patches - Zara.

I also bought two pairs of Chinos/Trousers.
If you are looking for some of these, definitely check out New Look! They have a massive range of
very stylish chinos, some with belts, some with buttons and some simple. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
Here are the two pairs I got:

This is not all I got but I thought I would give you an idea of the clothes I like and bought!
I also bought a nice pair of  Brown 'Loafers' from New Look.
Just check out the website or go in store to see the amazing selection of loafers they have, as well as shoes.
Mmmm heaven

Now on to a few beauty products I have picked up recently...

Great Lash Mascara in Blackest Black By Maybelline,
MUA nail polish in Shade 23,
MUA  Heaven and Earth Pallette
and Charles Worthington front row Salt Spray

The Charles Worthington Salt Spray has turned my hair from being dull and straight, to rough and tousled.
I have that sexy style that you see the models on the beach in magazines flaunting..
I heard the Lee Stafford one isn't so great and was recommended this one on youtube, so I thought I would try it! LOVE.

The MUA nail polish has chipped less than my Revlon Nail Polish so expense doesn't say everything about a product, I tell ya!! The colour is an army green sort of shade and I really like it. Will be painting my nails with this quite often throughout Autumn :)

Great Lash Mascara in Blackest Black is quite famous on Youtube and things so when I saw it in Xtras for £3.99 (they have it at this price in 'The Factory Shop' too [well in my local one]), I thought WHY NOT?
It is a curved brush and I am excited to try this out and see if it works better than my usual mascara which is  Collection 2000's Fake Lash Effect Mascara.

I shall continue a seperate post on the MUA Heaven and Earth Palette as I think it is a fantastic bargain! Pigmented which you wouldn't expect at £4 but again, price isn't everything.

ANYWAYS THANKS FOR READING MY BLOG GUYS AND SPREAD THE WORD!
Hope you enjoyed.
Mwah,
Love Alice xoxox

What I do to stay slim and healthy ♡

Food

I find that is is very important to eat breakfast EVERYDAY. It provides your body with the energy that will be essential throughout the day. It will fill you up until midday when you have lunch, and if not, a simple fruit snack could be eaten.
Another pointer that I feel is essential is the timing of your tea or as some say 'dinner'. I usually have mine very early, most of the time 5pm, however it can sometimes be 4.30pm. This ensures that a big meal is eaten far from bedtime, where your body will be still and unable to burn many calories. You can then have snacks later on, just make sure that this isn't a big meal.

A typical day for me:

Breakfast - Weetabix with chopped banana. Or Cookie Crisp. Or Fruit 'n' Fibre.

Lunch (Early-ish) - Ryvita's and crispbreads with margarine and some sort of paste (Beef or Chicken and Ham) Today, I also had some plum, cherry and yellow tomatoes on my plate.
I occasionally have a packet of crisps (Quavers and French fries are the least fattening! McCoys and Walkers and Doritos are the most fattening - however I adore Doritos and occasionally have these on a night mmm)

Snacks - Between Lunch and Dinner, I will have many snacks and regular intervals! I try to have a satsuma (tangerine or orange) every day, as this helps your immune system and Vitamin C is essential! I love having a bowl of purple grapes and/or strawberries also! (Strawberry picking is fun and makes sure they are fresher and have not being sprayed with pesticides!)
I also have an icecream or a lolly. Ribena lollies only have about 30-40 calories in and are very refreshing! Ben and Jerrys Strawberry Cheesecake Frozen Yoghurt is low fat and VERY tasty. Lately, I have being eating it out of the tub - small quantities at a time and have found it very enjoyable indeed!

Dinner - I am fortunate enough to have parents who make proper meals every night. My plate usually consists of: Meat, Potato and Vegetables. For example, Pork with mash potato and green beans.
We have 'Sunday Lunch' every Sunday (an English thing), which includes meat, roast potatoes, cabbage, carrots, green beans, occasionally stuffing and of course, Yorkshire puddings!
I rarely have pizza, even though it is very nice, but I save that for when we eat out (which is rare.)
However, when I do eat pizza, we have wedges with it instead of chips and also have salad, to maintain a balanced diet.

After Dinner Snacks - On a night, I try to incorporate a piece of fruit, such as a satsuma again or a bowl of grapes. I also treat myself to a home-made cookie/biscuit/cake also. Making your own cookies etc is better than buying them in the shops, as you know what has being put in and is free of  E numbers and preservatives. They are also yummy! If I have not had an icecream in that day, I will have one that night. Same with a packet of crisps. However, I will try not to have the two within one night!

I find my diet consists of both healthy and unhealthy foods. I feel as if I can keep myself satisfied all day without going too off-balance and still being able to stay slim.
I think the 3 main things to remember are: STAY FREE FROM TAKE-AWAYS, HAVE REGULARLY MEALS AND SNACKS and BE SURE TO INCLUDE LOTS OF FRUIT INSTEAD OF CRISPS.

Exercise

To be honest, I should do more exercise. I dance once a week for 2 hours or so. That's it.
I occasionally go for a little run, but that doesn't seem to happen much. I used to go to the gym, but I find paying for exercise is a little silly, really.
HOWEVER, I have realised that I need to do more and have started a routine that I try to do at least once a day! It is a toning exercise and will ensure my bum, tum and thighs are in great shape!

My toning routine:
20 sit ups (more if possible)
Leg turns (Lay on side and rotate leg in circles feeling the burn!) - Do on each leg at least twice.
Bum crunches as I say! (Place forearms on floor and be on your knees. Lift one leg, but holding some sort of weight behind your knee. Lift your leg with the weight there and this will tone your bum!)
I attempt press-ups but my arms are very weak (working on it though!)

Thanks for reading and I hope some of this info helps you!
Stay healthy,
Alice

Earrings!

AZTEC THEME ARRIVES IN PRIMARK!

Recently, I have being really loving the aztec theme, especially in jewellery and I think triangles are really fashionable too! These have being seen in places like Urban Outfitters and GoGo Phillip etc.. However, now primark has realized this trend and decided to stock some triangle aztec earrings like these! FOR £2! Bargain, I'd say! They also do these in a white and black and i think there may be a little gold? But i decided to go for the more colourful ones with the red in. For £2, you could defo get both!

Another pair of earrings I found in Primark were these droplet earrings. I found these from a youtube guru called SWalkerMakeup on youtube! She is gorgeous and they really suited her, so I decided to go find these when I went in. £1.50! They are like little droplets and the stone looks really nice and not cheap! I just hope they don't break...

I will be definitely taking these two pairs on holiday with me, alongside my feather earrings, some other silver danglys and maybe a couple of pairs of studs!

ADIOS,

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation ♡

So here it is, my new little baby!!

Estee Lauder Foundation is a medium coverage foundation (I'd say medium to heavier, personally). I like this coverage as it covers my acne and blemishes, without creating a mask!
This foundation stays in place ALL day and is 'Non-Acnegenic', 'Oil Free' and 'Fragrance Free', so is sure to not give you a bad complexion or to create oil within your skin.

The only con I would say is the fact that the bottle could be better, as in using a pump of some sort.
I don't particularly love the 'pour bottles', as it is sort of hard to control how much comes out, whereas one pump on to your foundation brush and TA DA!
However, I can definitely live with this, as it gives me great coverage and I have even had comments on how much better my skin looked!

This foundation is very pricey at £26.50!  But you get what you pay for and I feel as if it is worth it 100%!
You can purchase this from any Estee Lauder counter, which are available in the UK in places like Debenhams, House Of Fraser, Harvey Nichols, Fenwicks etcetc (just if you didn't know this already!)
Almost forgot to mention, it has SPF 10! I was unsure when I saw this, as SPF is not always great when photos are being taken, but I don't think it shows too much and will protect you from the harmful rays of the sun, which is always a bonus!

A Summer Look ♡

This is me before I went to an event near me!
I love this look as it really reflects Summer for me, and happiness.
Do you like my orange and yellow feather earrings?
They are from Primark!! £1!
I am wearing Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation which is my new 'holy grail' product!
I left my hair from the night before where I had it Curly/Wavy.
